From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of characters, and a gripping narrative including angels, demons, and malevolent powers expanding in influence within the urban setting.
Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and introduced the premier party of heroes who will split off from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.
This warrior group consists of Teor (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the agile character (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at one table would be impossible.
Hence, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Overture, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Questers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for players who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might look out of place, but the events of the third episode demonstrate why these specific adventurers are best suited for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
First, the group has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death initiated the story’s plot—used The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to auction.
Casimir then settled his debts and fled to a secure base in the remote area, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each character has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile location.
- Tyranny and The healer, having defied his family’s wishes to execute the target and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as important members in the powerful family could enable the team reach locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The grateful character vowed a life debt to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- Teor is marked for death by the clan.
This leaves them few options but to travel to the remote area in quest for the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
From episode three’s follow-up content, we discover that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight participants to assemble the Seekers and Planners parties.
Audiences can anticipate discovering which players will be in which group in the story’s concluding setup installment, released on the upcoming Thursday.
